Michael A. Evans and Jamie L. Reyes Jones published an article titled “Understanding Reciprocity Agreements” in the August 2017 edition of Benefits Magazine.  The article explores reciprocity agreements between multiemployer fringe benefit plans.  A reciprocity agreement is an agreement between two multiemployer plans which allow a participant’s employment in another plan’s geographical jurisdiction to be credited towards a benefit in the participant’s home plan.  The article examines the legality of reciprocity agreements, including reciprocity between defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.  Benefits Magazine is a periodical by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.  The full text of the article is located here:
